16M to 150k monthly

What business would you do with 16M? Mungich amelock ksh 16M to fixed account akule 150k monthly then get his 16M back after 5 years. Very nice strategy. Only risk ni bank kuanguka, almost impossible. If it were you, what ungejenga rentals korogocho ama ungenunua sabina joy😂?

That’s where you’d be wrong. Kenyan banks, especially those run by Indians, can collapse at any time.

The chances are very minute given the worth of assets backing the bank. Also management plays a key role. And indians are shrewd business guys though ours ain’t indian. Unless we became a totalitarian regime.

Onyi tulia na huna hata mia kwa simu. Just hypothetically what would you do to earn a better yield while preserving capital? Given that is fixed investment so client is assured the rate won’t change.

Boiled eggs ama smokie pasua.

What assets back these local banks? In fact, they recently raised the operating capital requirements of private banks from Kshs 1 billion to Kshs 10 billion ($77.5 million), and 24 banks (out of 44) immediately announced they couldn’t meet this threshold, which means they cannot be considered banks any more once CBK actually implements this proposal.

Do you know what happens when a bank collapses with your parked Kshs 16M? You only get back Kshs 500,000 MAX.

Once again, Kenyans exposing their lack of financial literacy just like @255 exposed his entire country’s lack of basic English skills.

Banks arent micro finance. They are macro. With assets worth tens of billions to trillions. Have you ever sat down and went through some of the audit reports? Also some banks are backed by ultra rich families. Just do thorough research outside TikTok and YouTube.

You mean you’ve not heard of any Kenyan banks collapsing?

Yes, I go through audited financial reports for my bank. That’s how I found out about the capital requirements being raised, placing half the banks at risk. It was even in the news.

What exactly does this mean? If the bank fails, the rich families will service their debts?

Tbonds, tbills, corporate bonds. Stress free. But your 16m will not buy todays worth of 16m in 4 years. It will buy probably 11-12 m max.

Celebrate with caution.
