11 giant infrastructure projects that are reshaping Africa

Africa’s population is exploding.

By the United Nations’ estimate, the continent will see its current population of 1.2 billion double by the year 2050. That’s an expected growth of 42 million people — basically a brand-new Argentina — every year.

A number of important infrastructure projects are underway to make room for all those people, including railways, dams, and clean energy solutions such as solar arrays.

Here are some of the largest projects coming to Africa in the next several decades.

I wonder how the Israelites chose the red sea instead of the dry strip joining the two continents.

my goodness, the ignorance!! if u checked further and stopped relying on one article as gospel truth, u would realize that lappset is underway with various supporting infrastructure already in place. roads, isiolo airport, and the 3 berths are already under construction. Again Konza is also U/C with the HQ building underway, n the kaist university to break ground in first quarter in 2017.

if u checked further the std gauge railway mbs-kpl-kgl is one of the biggest infrastructural project in africa. Tatu city? Now somebody tell me,where is bagamoyo port? where is grand inga?
And if jasper is a big project(96MW) what of Turkana wind power the biggest in africa by output(375MW)

Hold on Konza is still on course…just that it’s not being given priority by this administration because it’s supposed to be private sector driven…GOK is laying out basic infrastructure…Today they are launching the strategic 5 year plan…bado nina hopes nayo

Blah blah blah…

Hii article ime include very many projects that haven’t even begun, a good example is Bagamoyo. Then in Kenya Lapsset is at a more advanced stage than Konza, and I believe its impact will be bigger
