My first ever Xiaomi device was the Redmi Note 4 that’s when that company was picking up steem in the west. People fell in love with them because they offered quality and value plus some extra useful features. It had that vibe when OnePlus One was launched fast forward to today I’m on the Note 9 Pro & the OG Note 8, these devices have been absolute tanks for me. They have always been reliable & worked and no I’ve never got those annoying ads…1yr & a few months in up until the MIUI 12 to 12.5.2 updates. MIUI 12-12.5 has ruined most of these older phones and newer ones, bugs bugs, lag, ridiculous battery drain. My Note 9 Pro is hanging on to dear life but still strong though I’ve noticed a significant dip from how it was on MIUI 11, Note 8 nayo balaa hii naona nikiidispose hizo updates ziliilemea proper.
I had hopes for the Note 10 Pro but according to reviews online kwa communities it’s a hit or miss device kwanza it launched with very bad bugs
and screen issues, mara ghosting, green lines etc. Wenye wako nayo hapa please semeni how your ownership journey has been. A majority of those bugs apparently were fixed but still MIUI 12.5 ndio hio balaa.
Sina hopes for the Note 11 line up hapo sioni upgrades just a playing around of specs kutoa hapa bandika pale nyima hapa alafu sasa zitakuja na Mediacieth woooi.

Note 10 Pro hizo camera hata didn’t hit as expected for those sensors they underperformed and to me the last Mi device naeza upgrade to is the Mi 10T Pro 5G until they get their shit together ama nahama to miKorea Samsung maybe. Any offering from them with the hot running, power hungry @snapdragon 888 siwes shika because it is not well optimized uongeze that awful MIUI 12.5 and it’s problems ni bugs na kushinda na charger ama powerbank ndio itakuwa kazi. The new units are now shipping with hardware & software defects out of the box , ni pata potea…they need to do something ama ni the millions in unit production and sales nalemea wao?
I praised when they did exceptionally well but mimi si blind fanboy kama the kijiji Nokia mascot , I ruthlessly critic too pale makosa nafanyika.

Note 8 and note 9 are a mess. The updates messed everything. Phone inalag sana, you have to reboot then after a few System UI not responding.

I did a post explaining why quality control in phone manufacturing is very important.
And its not a situation of “mine is working well” ama “I haven’t faced any problems so far”. Poor QC will result in 2/3 of the population getting good phones and 1/3 getting complete garbage that they can’t use for a year or two. Then the 2/3 start screaming to the 1/3 who have crappy phones telling them to STFU!!
For Asian companies if you want good QC you have to buy a Huawei or BBK phone. Otherwise buy from Korea or from the US.
Phones like Nokia and Xiaomi will either convert you to a blind defender or a disgruntled buyer.
Apparently according to people the last stable version of MIUI 11 is the best.
Don’t just pick updates because you feel you have bundles or over a Wi:Fi

What I’m saying is you bought the phone with android 9, another same phone updated to android 11 both can run the same apps very well. Check most apps on playstore they are optimized for devices running lower versions of android say 6.0 to the latest 11 or 12.
