If feel like mainstream media is deliberately letting this industry down. Everywhere you look, it’s either Nollywood, bongochieth, soap operas and some crap talkshows. Turns out that getting your film on Netflix is the only way out, otherwise utabaki underground. & its no easy task. Connections ni muhimu.
Kenya has never had a robust film industry. Not in the sense of Bongowood or Nollywood. They just like copying stuff from the western countries and talking in the English of nose. Fake pathetic stuff. Look at how Tanzanian actors are so natural, simple and good at their movies. Look at the Nigerians. Look at the Indians. We lack our natural identity and that’s our biggest undoing. Let’s not blame the government 'cause the government can’t support nonsense.
