Web devs hebu kujeni

So how much should I expect to cough if I want a fully functional website aimilar to kina Jumia ama Kilimall??

Think client data security first, check the prices of SSL from good companies like https://ssl.comodo.com/

You can get a free SSL certificate from Letsencrypt for free nowadats

Checkout Shopify.com which starts you off free, then move to the paid 3k per month plan.

You get everything…analytics, security, etc done for you and pay as you go

Uko na 20,000 KES tufanye kazi, I will make android app for free for u as a bonus. Hit my DM for my samples if interested

mtawacha ku offer cheap services kama mtu hakohoi more than 30k io project achana nayo naelewa kusota is real but never under bid yourself…

I agree, was shocked when I saw that quoted amount

Kabisaa, wasee wenye hu quote low price ndo wanaharibu dev market bana.

Me too

@Jimit kuja inbox I give you a fair quote and build you a solid e-commerce website.

Do you need opensource or custom development?
For opensource some of the best frameworks are opencart, magento and woocommerce. Your developer will charge around 40K - 60K for services. Domain name $13 py and hosting around $7 pm which a good starting point since you need speed and reliability for your hosting. You will also need a theme which costs around $25 to $100.

If you decide to go for a custom solution, developers will usually charge from around 120K onwards depending on the complexity. Popular frameworks for this are laravel (php) and django (Python)

If you want a site that mtu ametumia a “template” ie all this person does is just install and not code, then maybe 20k/30k. And probably you can do that stuff yourself anyway.

If you want a true professional site at Jumia level, you will have to pay lots. I mean a lot. Think of it this way:

  1. Any developer good enough to make you a “part” of the site → e.g (backend, front end ) is going to be paid north of 200K a month. Probably more. If that dev is paid less than that, or is unemployed(or does not run his own stuff) then kuna shida. Si kwa ubaya but the demand out here is crazy. Any developer who can do the entire backend and front end? Even way more.
  2. It’s almost impossible for a single dev to build the site at such a level. Jumia probably has a team of 100+ devs working on the site. You might think it’s simple but there are a lot of things happening behind the scene(And if you want to be successful at e-commerce, you have to understand those things or have someone on your team who does).
  3. Suppose you want to argue with 1 and 2. Fine. If it was so cheap then(and 20K), why are there few sites at Jumia level? I mean even big wigs such as Naivas, Chandarana are still struggling to get online years after Jumia came?
  4. Do it come and tell us the results in a year.

on the cheap side, Several hundred thousand and serious server maintenance.

Go to Fiverr for a rough estimate…it will give you a clear picture of the amounts.
If you get an honest local developer, it is even better. But most will promise wine and deliver colored water.

Mie prices zangu zinaangalia time tuliyopo sasa.

Nipe hio kazi mkuu na tuweke updates hapa in 3 weeks Ili hawa script kiddies ambao hata Github hawaijui kazi kutoa quotes kubwa bila kujali nyakati waone uhalisia

Cc @Jimit @Kamjesh @BSMZOMQSOZ @kukufry na wengine nyote mlopinga quote yangu

@Kali linux weka sample hapa basi.

A site the scope of JUMIA with all the desired functionality will definitely set you back cost wise:

Things to consider:

[ol]
[li]API integrations with MPESA/VISA card payments/SMS etc. [/li][li]SSL certificates, Production environments like AWS, domain names and server environments[/li][li]Human resources - a competent technical team consisting of fullstack developers, UI/UX developers and designers[/li][li]Operating costs during development [/li][/ol]
This is just an overview, but it is definitely going to range somewhere in the hundreds of thousands.

everything in this thread smells like naivety, ignorance and ubonobo, google has all the answers and local devs will never take you anywhere unless you are paying millions

Weka Github yako apa msenge wewe

Mkuu wewe sio mteja, mteja akiniomba samples namtumia chap tu. Muulize mwenye uzi nimeshamwekea samples.

Pia kazi nyingi mie ninazofanya companies wananambia niwatengenezee private systems so nikiexpose hapa hitokuwa wise.

Give me a deal then request for samples hata ukitaka za banking systems nitakuonesha cha muhimu tu uwe unataka kweli kufanyiwa kazi.

I do tech to serve people mkuu, lets get along
