It connects a computer or mobile device remotely to a network (work, school etc). E.g… labda uko home and you want to connect to office , you use a VPN service (ni kama application), log into the office network and be part of it. So, your device will be using the security configuration of the office network. Halafu unaweza tumia office mail, check shared folders, view intranet, telephone etc.
The advantage is that it is secure and good thing for telecommuting.
