Toyota Hiace To Be Assembled In Mombasa

Small gains hapa na pale.

Popular Toyota van Hiace will be locally assembled.

I thought they started doing that kitambo… ? Hio plant has been running for close to 3 years.

Ni ati hii model iko outdated. So, i think assemblies in Japan wanaconcentrate na “bonneted hiace” hii dangerous and risky tuachiwe huku. My 2 cents

inapea customer advantage gani?

China should just take over public transport vehicles. The racist Japanese have never cared about African lives lost via their death cages. Japanese are very arrogant whereas China listens to the customer. Japan will bend over backwards to build a massive prado for the U.S market but doesn’t give two shits about the crap they ship to the 3rd world.

Hiyo Hiace mpya wanaoffer to other markets ni safer, fuel efficient & can transport more passengers (18 pax). Pale australia inaanza kshs 3,112, 463.88 (38640 AUD/Kiwi). So, waache kutuosha.

Acha tuiongoje 7 years, Mitumba, so 2027 hapo

Ata picha hakuna

Inakaa Vans za Europe, Akina Mercedes Sprinter, Movano, na VW Transporter

A locally produced Hiace versus an imported one… The cost diffrence can even get close to 500,000.

Si hata heri uongeze hio pesa you buy a zero milage vehicle.

Kwanza the Hiace 9 L, the high roof hiace kama zile za kwenda Mombasa. Its better to buy it from the Mombasa plant than importing it.

Someone did an article about it and it was very interesting.

Waunde ata probox

Be grateful, only Kenya and SA have Toyota assembly factories in Africa producing land cruisers, hilux ,dynas and now hiace.

Apana. They are making the old model. Zile shark tumezoea.

And why are these cars expensive whereas they are assembled in KE??
In fact point me to just one advantage of having car assembly plants in Kenya.
Do they even sell spare parts? NO!

Car assembly ni kama zile epz za nguo. The Kenyan workers are paid shit and the only one who wins is the govt collecting taxes, or purchasing police land cruisers

If China was assembling some of their knockoff cars in Kenya you would see the difference in how they would treat the Kenyan customers. First of all Chinese cars are affordable and China builds vehicles that suit the customer’s needs

Your stupid view shows that you need to do mtihani wa mwisho, ile ya form 4. Manufacturing cars, moreso Toyotas sio mcheso. We are the chosen few in the world. And any manufacturing leads to more jobs, taxes, tech transfer etc.

 chosen to do what? Assemble completed auto parts together? Wewe hata huelewi difference between car manufacturing and car assembly. Car assembly ni kufunga bolts.

The real money is in manufacturing the car or it’s components. Kenyans don’t manufacture they just assemble. Yaani kazi ya mkono. Sweatshop peanuts. If kenyans were smelting alluminium to build body panels then that would be another story. That is for the big boys. You mine bauxite and iron ore or import it. Then convert it to steel and alluminium. Then design the car components and manufacture them. You would practically end joblessness in Ke. If Kenya for instance built engines from scratch, Kenya would be a first world economy within 10 years. Learn the difference between car assembly and car manufacturing.

Cars have been assembled in Kenya since the 1970s have you seen any tech transfer of any kind in Nairobi? Toyota can sue you if you work for them and try to copy paste their products out there on the street. Furthermore you are only assembling not manufacturing, as a worker you don’t know the manufacturing process.

We don’t manufacture cars. What Toyota does at the Mombasa plant is what Ngei does at Makindu Motors. Kushikanisha parts ukitumia semi-skilled labour.
