software factory in Mulot, Bomet County is scheduled to begin Friday in what is expected boost Kenya’s status as regional technology hub.
The factory will be established under the Kenya National Digital Master Plan (2022 – 2032) launched by ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru in April this year.
The factory in Mulot will be the first among two scheduled for construction where the government targets to employ over 100,000 software engineers to develop applications for the region as well as the global market.
According to ICT Authority, the factories will spur the country’s industrialization agenda and enhance economic growth through ICT.
