Stationery retail

Fellow talkers, as the Rona effects hit hard last year, I spent time in the rural areas and made an observation. Despite the local shopping centre being at a confluence of about 8 primary/secondary schools, one has to travel about 5km to buy stationery and it’s unreasonably priced (at least according to retail prices elsewhere). I have seen this as a business opportunity. I’ll be on it as soon as lockdown is over.Naomba advice on what to expect, operational hazards, wholesalers, etc from any of you who has tried similar business. I will be really thankful.

Good idea NV chieth.

Slim margins, seasonal peaks.

That which you call unreasonable pricing is because you must inflate the price as you only sell when schools are opening hizo siku zingine unakula chenye ulijiwekea

Sell at the same price as those 5km away. You’ll have the proximity advantage.

Good point. Thanks
