STORY BELOW

A brother to a man who was shot 36 times in broad daylight in Mihango area, Utawala, Nairobi is missing.
The family of the deceased man Kevin Obinya, 24, said his elder brother Alfred Ouma Obinya, 29, is missing since last Thursday after he was picked up from Maji Mazuri area in Mwiki.
The two brothers ran a matatu business in the city. The family said they had bought two matatus.

Kevin was lured to his death on Friday, September 23, in the morning.
He died in a hail of bullets as he met his former wife who was later kidnapped from the scene and abandoned in Tassia.
The family believes Kevin was killed as he sought to establish the whereabouts of his brother who had been picked from his house earlier on.
According to a family member, Kevin sought to know the whereabouts of Alfred before he was killed.
About six heavily armed men went to the residence of the deceased’s brother where they were captured on CCTV torturing and harassing Alfred.
One of the gunmen was heard asking him where he had put the gun.
Alfred was picked up at about 3 am on Friday while his brother died in a hail of bullets at about 11 am on Friday.
He planned to visit Kasarani police station to establish if his brother was there.
And before he could leave, he met a woman who locals said was his former wife along Gesora Road.

It was then that two cars pulled up and the occupants opened fire, killing him on the spot.
The gunmen then picked up the woman who was with the deceased and drove off with her before they abandoned her in Tassia.
The unknown number of gunmen, who were aboard two vehicles, cornered Kevin along Gesora Road and shot at him 36 times.
Witnesses told police the incident happened at 11 am and it left the female companion who was with him unharmed but shocked.
The gunmen went close to the eyewitness and took away his phone, which was found a few metres from the body of the deceased, having been smashed.
Police arrived at the scene minutes later and found the victim’s bullet-riddled body near a building under construction on Gesora Road.
An examination of the body at the scene confirmed it had multiple gunshot wounds.
At the scene, police recovered 36 spent cartridges, two rounds of live ammunition and five bullet heads.
The victim’s body was taken to City Mortuary where the family identified him on Sunday ahead of a planned autopsy.
“The man’s head is like a sieve. They pumped many bullets in his head indicating they wanted him dead,” said a member of the family who saw the body.
Police said they will investigate the incident.
Another officer claimed Kevin had a dark past with a criminal record but argued he was not sure if it was the motive behind his killing.
