I don’t think there will be negative consequences. When the influence of religion approaches zero, it means that people have will enlightened to the point that they can govern themselves in a civic manner. Again, we need strong civic institutions, not strong religious institutions

unfortunately, some " civic manners & institutions" were controlled by religion.
now we will be in a position where we have to look at every behaviour/issue… in an enlightened way. why is something wrong or right, should this be allowed and that not allowed.
our differences in what is wrong or right from an “enlightened” point of view is what am worried about especially for those who won’t move with the times. (leave behind religious values and definition of what is/was wrong and right/allowed and not allowed)
