The only reason Europeans were able to colonize the rest of the world was the technology gap they had with other cultures. Today building an old school colonial empire by force is impossible. Humanity is roughly on the same level of technology. Globalization lessened the gap & in the information age of the internet - no technology stays secret for long.
Europeans have tried to colonize Africa way before the 1800s for those of you who didn’t know. The Roman Military had it’s ass handed to them by the Nubians as the tried to move in further into Sub- Saharan African Territory. Both armies we’re roughly on the same level of technology and when it came down to it the black man won. If you gave the Romans guns ,that would have been a different story.
