Quick clarification on high mileage

What mileage is considered high considering most cars bought by kenyas are second hand some coming in with 100k plus mileage.

Mileage is often associated with condition. In Kenya, it is assumed that a car with high mileage will probably be in a bad state, which could be true and also could not be true.

I have seen cars coming in from Japan with mileage over 100k but car Grade is 4 or 4.5, meaning it is in excellent condition. Therefore, if you are buying foreign used car, find out its grade, don’t bother your head with mileage

A car with a 100k mileage is more favourable since that mileage is genuine. A car with less mileage is fishy since the low mileage lie makes people doctor mileages. If a timing chain was changed in a car, you are buying a fucked-up car.

Are you confusing a timing belt vs a serpentine belt? Serpentine belt is the one changed in routine maintenance.

No one spoke of changing them as part of routone maintenance. Dont pit words in my mouth. Baba, timing belts or chains are supposed to be changed. The belt is usually changed at 100k km. And then don’t think they dont account for this. Usually having to change your chain at 150k and you don’t drive a high performance car means a issue related manufacturer, other than a routine bad part.

Nikiwa mayolo my first car was a honda accord with 250k mileage (na hizi ni miles sio km) I never did a thing out of normal service yet the car was a breeze.
