Omosh and alcoholism

Hii story ya omosh got me thinking…how comes some of us can drink recreationally every weekend and still make some incremental progress in life? Yet jamaa kama omosh amekojolea pesa yote less than three months after kuokolewa na wakenya and embarrasing himself and his whole clan on live national TV?

Pray tell, does alcohol really has this kind of clutch on people to the point unakuwa kama mtumwa and u cant go a few days sober?

I was once addicted to weed, started as a fun pass time activity after high school, then got to a point i had to take a puff when i woke up to face the day, to socialize etc. i would say i was batting some demons and weed offered me some form of escape. funny how i dropped the habit. I woke up one day and decided i had had enough of it and quit cold turkey. There is always and underlying factor in addiction, reality gets to hard to face… for others like myself i was battling anxiety.

Interesting, look at this man. Such a sorry state

Money you haven’t hustled for is likely to be wasted…on top of that,he’s a fool from conception beyond repair

What happened to the shared account?
Wife + the other guy?

Asubuhi ni kuamka kuoga kungara na hey! Kulewaaa!

Battling demons is the hardest. Kila mwanaume ako na addiction zake. Mimi saa hii nimewachana na lanye 6 good months. Omosh needs to grow up

Alcoholism is mostly genetic, avoid fombe at all costs if you have any member of your extended family battling with it

I don’t think so. Leta scientific proof

Anything done with inability to stop even though it is causing psychological and physical harm with a dopamine reward system is addiction. People think in the lines of substance abuse or porn and sex and other vices. 15 years ago video games became my addiction,i would abscond jobo or meet ups just to indulge…with top quality excuses why i didnt show up,slowly i ‘self therapied’. Addiction is a disease and not many people accept that fact. Anything can be an addiction no matter how subtle it looks in the open.
Substance, sex, food, gambling and INTERNET are the main groups of addiction. You might be indulging in one a tad bit to often to realise or accept you are addicted

Hio ya internet umenishika

Kama kuna family history of alcoholism ,niglets have a higher risk of developing a kanyuaji problem. Its a complex linkage group disease, with variations in a large number of genes responsible for alcohol metabolism, Alcohol dehydrogenase 1B and ALDH2, more commonly carried by Asians and is associated with alcohol-related flushing, a strong adverse reaction to alcohol that is protective against drinking(ever wondered why indians can out drink you?) that have the strongest known affects on risk for alcoholism.
Studies show that alcoholism is approximately 50 percent attributable to genetics,so if grandpa had those genes, rest assured, someone’s gonna get shafted down the bastard line.

FYI people who struggle with alcohol abuse are not always dependent (addicted) on alcohol.

Its true, kuna watu najua wanaeza dedi bila internet:D:D

I think its safe to say its better to be addicted to the least injurious thing bcoz either way addiction ni lazima

Genetic predisposition (parents or grandparents were problem alcohol users) +environment (work, family, relationships, community, adverse childhood experiences)+personal characteristics (risk taking, sensation seeking, lack of self regulation) all play a role.

when these risk factors interact, vulnerability to alcohol use is high, and gravitation to alcohol use disorder is much easier.

No single factor or gene contributes to alcohol use disorder, other addictions or mental disorders.

Omosh seemingly has a disease (addiction) that cannot be cured by money or rehab alone. Major changes are needed. First, is to identify his triggers.

Addiction is a disease. You can’t say it is “safer” to have one form of cancer over the other, or malaria over typhoid. All affect you. All are debilitating.

Pombe na anasa zimemaliza wanaume wengi. It is common kuona daktari ama lecturer mzima amegonga 45 years bila hata nyumba. Meanwhile anasa na pombe kila weekend. This city kama hauna wisdom itakutafuna ikuteme.

I know a few highly paid professionals living paycheck to paycheck. Good income, insane expenses and leisure.

Ata mimi pombe ilinimalisa in university nikapigwa discontinuation. I’m glad ilinitega mapema cause I had time to lift myself up back again at 19 years

Bit i still dont get how u drink yourself to utter poverty kama omosh. Admittedly, mimi hukunywa once in a while lakini kama sina doh siezi kopa niende ulevi ama nikunywe hadi rent. How it gets to this point really baffles me.
