Obado Plays ODM Against Ruto Powers of Influence...All About Alliances.

The Orange Democratic Movement switched tactics after failing to kick off the impeachment motion against Migori Governor Okoth Obado thrice.
Top brass party leaders camped in the county to spearhead the impeachment motion from ground zero rather than pushing the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from the headquarters in Nairobi.
ODM Chairman John Mbadi led dignitaries including Executive Director Oduor Ong’wen and several MPs to Migori.
The party also called for a crisis meeting on Saturday, September 12, in Migori aimed at pushing MCAs to eject Obado from his seat.

ODM leader Raila Odinga’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango further called the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to investigate Migori County Government officials who he accused of colluding with Obado to derail the impeachment process.
“On the pending impeachment motion in Migori, the DCI may need to conduct a money trail between Migori County officials and unofficial networks and reporters and radio commentators in vernacular radio stations and even national newspapers,” Onyango lamented.

The MCAs were also reportedly threatened with de-whipping if they did not conform to the party’s demands.
“The branch delegates and National Executive officials will meet in Migori today (Saturday, September 12)" ODM’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna wrote to Migori County party leadership.

Migori County ODM branch secretary Jossy Olala confirmed the crisis meeting was underway, with the impeachment motion set to be tabled for the fourth time on Tuesday, September 15.
The crisis meeting was called after County Speaker Boaz Okoth adjourned the house three times while citing insecurity reasons which made him fear for his life.
This was after the goons allegedly attacked his house and also roughed him up at a hotel.
“My life is in danger and I have recorded a statement so as to understand why my bodyguard was withdrawn,” Okoth stated as ODM played cagey with the issue.

Meanwhile, Obado on Wednesday, September 9, alleged that everyday activities in his county would be normalized following what was termed as the flattening of the Covid-19 curve. Speaking to the press, Obado stated that the country had witnessed high recovery rates since the first Covid-19 case was reported on March 13, 2020.

The governor declared that he would not be wearing a mask, saying that he agreed with the neighboring Country Tanzania that had declared it was Covid-19 free.
“I also think I might have contracted the disease at one point because there was a time I was coughing persistently but I feel just fine now,” Obado stated.
He claimed that research conducted by the Covid-19 response team in his county concluded that the curve had been flattened and activities needed to be normalized.
“So we are not stopping people from going to the markets or going to the churches,” he asserted.

Ojinga fears are coming true ,obado is the next luo leader.

Migori speaker Boaz Okoth on Wednesday adjourned the assembly for three weeks, throwing plans to impeach Governor Okoth Obado into disarray.
In a letter signed by Okoth, he said the fracas witnessed in the assembly earlier was the reason.
A Migori MCA’s arm was broken during a melee at the Migori county assembly ahead of the planned tabling of an impeachment motion.

Nominated MCA Mary Ogodo was assaulted and her left arm broken as the assembly descended into chaos over the planned ouster.

It forced sergeant-at-arms to run away with the mace, the symbol of power in the assembly, as they left members assaulting each other physically, verbally with bottles of water being thrown around. Ogodo was rushed to St Joseph Mission Hospital.
“She is in hospital, her left arm has been broken and she is receiving treatment. She can’t talk right now. She is in stable condition,” an aide told the Star on the phone.
Tension started during the morning session as North Kanyamkago MCA George Omamba got orders from Migori High Court reinstating him as Deputy Speaker on Tuesday evening.
Omamba was impeached by his colleagues on May last year together with assembly clerk Tom Opere, with Bukira East MCA Mathews Chacha and Emmanuel Abala taking over in acting capacity amid court orders.
On Wednesday, trouble started as five pro-Obado MCAs led by Kaler MCA Thomas Akungo walked into the house which was in session and tried to disrupt the session as Omamba was still on the chair.
“The five MCAs were hiding in one of the offices in the assembly controlled by Obado’s relative before they made their way into the assembly and started creating chaos,” a staff said.
In the ensuing melee, the session was disrupted as Ogodo, who is said to be in support of the ouster, was attacked. She blamed Akungo for the melee.
