If it’s benign renovation, why the secrecy?
I support that court ruling. You don’t just get up and wall off a public park without informing the public about what you are doing.

Look at the public toilets in Nairobi CBD. When they were free, they were unusable due to unimaginable filth.
Now, you pay 10 bob and you get to use a hygienic facility.
Charging even kitu kidogo makes anybody using the toilet to use it with decorum. You value the facility since you parted with something (no matter how small) to use it.
Rubbish. The toilets were never free. They were paid for by taxes.
The toilets were free to use during Moi govt but filthy. Ngeta watu walipigwa huko ndani acha tu. They were renovated & privatised and guys charged 10 bob to use.
They did not become unusable because they were Free, they became unusable because of incompetent county/town councils. Even if they had charged 100 bob and still be run by the incompetent counties, they’d still be dirty and unusable
why hasn’t the Uhuru Gardens development been stopped?
I don’t even know if the work at Uhuru Park will stop, I’m simply supporting the reasoning behind this specific ruling
