Noise

Guys ive got a manual transmission that makes a high pitched noise when driving at speeds of over 70km/hr. Checked my mass airflow sensor its okay turbo rechecked iko poa. Someone told me wheelbearings mnipee ideas…

How is the sound when driving at low speed?

If it’s the transmission then it’s the pilot bearing.

No noise at low speed, it starts at high speed

Pelekea mech mwambie aangalie universal kama ni mkiuk mwambie uni-va-so:D:D:D

When i shift up and down and disengage the clutch no noise at all the problem comes in when i go past 70km/hr

Whats universal

Most likely some bearing has given up somewhere. The challenge is in identifying the exact location, which requires a keen ear and years of experience. That said, the most logical approach would be to spin the wheels to 70 km/hr with the vehicle raised off the ground (with all safety precautions observed). This way, it will be easier to locate the source of the noise or at least rule out some areas.

When on speed uki turn on changing lanes then one side inanyamaza but the other hainyamazi then its a wheel bearing. Well unless zimeisha 2 sides at once

Thanks man ill drop it off waiangalie

No it comes from side ya dashboard and its a continuos sound only when am past 70 km/hr.

Simple lift the car both wheels up. Make sure the place is quiet. Spin one wheel at a time while listening to how each one sounds. The one sounding different like its grinding ujue ndio culprit. Also try to rock the wheels and see if there is bearing play.

Asanteni wadau i found out the noise was from a leaking rubber seal on the windscreen. A sealant application and the thing was up and running

Universal brings some form of vibrations especially if the vehicle has a propeller. The vibrations come and go when the vehicle is in speed.

Niko na kadudu 4wd kanatoa sauti, whining sound kutoka nyuma, like apo kwa rear axle. Was suspecting of a pinion bearing. What’s the worst case scenario? Saidieni elders

worst case scenario is a bad differential due to lack of service. best case is wheel bearing. most people buy these four wheel drive small cars and forget that it needs additional service at the rear unlike front wheel drive versions whose single differential is immersed in transmission fluid.

Most likely, ni vile kuna gari I want to buy lakini hiyo noise ilinistua. Can a differential be repaired/replaced? Approximately costs?

they are usually cheap if its a toyota, nissan, mazda etc like 10-20k, but if its a mercedes or audi if you know you know.

Its a vitz man. Owner points to pinion bearing, but will establish before we do business. Any other advise is aprreciated. Thanks.

How does he know its pinion bearing unless he had removed it. Even so Vitz differential will be cheap. Just be prepared to buy one.
