MUMIAS SUGAR COMPANY BEING SOLD OFF AS SCRAP METAL

KCB has appointed Nevandra Raval as the receiver manager of Mumias Sugar to try and revive the sugar factory so that KCB can recover 90.4 billion owed to them by the Mumias Sugar. Of worth to note is Nevandra Raval is a steel manufacturer. It has been alleged that the businessman will inject 5 billion to operationalize the factory. What is going to happen is this,

-Nevandra Raval will walk in and promise a lot to the farmers using the local politicians and regional leaders.
-Using Mumias Sugar nucleus cane, he will start crushing cane for a week or so also to hood wink the farmers that the factory is up and running.
-Farmers will then start supplying their cane to Mumias Sugar, meanwhile he will be assessing the value of the machinery and equipment at the factory.
-Three or so months down the line after exhausting the little sugar cane that had remained within the zone, he will start shutting it down gradually citing lack of cane for crushing. None of the farmers who had supplied cane would have been paid since farmers within the zone have been used to waiting for three months before they are paid. Remember Mumias sugar already sold the sugar that came from their cane.
-Slowly by slowly he will start auctioning the factory as he crushes cane maybe once or twice in a month. At the end of one year, the factory will go completely silent again but this time it will just be the buildings that will be standing, all the machinery, motor vehicles, equipment etc would have been sold. He will close shop and say it is not possible to revive the factory.

What I am not sure about is how they will go about selling the expansive nucleus estate land plus the other pieces of land which holds their outreach offices across the zone because they will be met with a lot of resistance from the locals.

Sugar industry is dead, wacha tujenge Brazil

Kabras is alive

ata ndwiha but can barely satisfy the market need

Is it about time we looked for Kidero and have him accountable?

Kept alive by sugar from Brazil

Dear prophet, kindly give me the lotto numbers as well.

Like what happened to panpaper after it was re-opened with much pomp!

Atakuwa anaimport sukari kuweka kwa vigunia vya mumias

But didn’t the mlevi in chief promise to renovate the sugar industry last year?

Who even takes sugar nowadays? That shit does more harm than good. Let the factory rot

Interesting that the sugar companies are the biggest importers of sugar which they repackage and sell using their brand names.

Anyway the sugar farms should be replanted with nappier grass and make western the biggest dairy farming region.

People just don’t want Kidero to be held accountable. Most Kenyans are against it. Hata usiende mbali… even here on ktalk, people will stop you from holding fellow talkers to account for their actions/misdeeds. For example I have been stopped by guys like @The.Black.Templar, @chap, @Sambamba from holding @Abba to account for his actions. As for your suggestion, this is not something Kenyans want.

Hii kitu tungepea major general mmoja na muone ikirudi profitable in 2yrs

Thru repackaging imported sugar.
Let’s all agree that sugar can not be revived. Watu watafte kitu ingine ya kufanya. Imported sugar is even way cheaper

Sugarcane, firstly, is a plantation crop - anybody cheating farmers that you can make money by growing afew acres is a liar. Burn the can fileds and plant ovocado, macadamia and nappier grass - you make clean money

why not revive the damn thing and make profit longterm ?

Does the Kenyan govt subsidize bio-diesels?

All businesses should be privatized until the low IQ government officials learn to tame their greed and be visionary enough. Private enterprises thrive because of personal accountability.

hehe You guy, I have not stopped you from holding other people accountable, just do you…usiogope internet keyboard warriors
