Mother collapses and dies after frogmarching errant daughter to Salama Police station

Mbegu mbaya…this one will know no peace.

Thursday, 16 September 2021 – A 50-year-old woman collapsed and died at Salama police station yesterday evening, as she painfully recounted how her 19-year-old daughter had tormented her by not going home during school holidays.

In a sad story witnessed by police officers at the station, Consolata Mutua, had frogmarched her daughter to the station accusing her of bad behaviour.

As she begged our officers to intervene so that her daughter mends her ways, she became emotionally overwhelmed and collapsed.

Police officers and a well-wisher tried to administer first aid and resuscitate her to no avail. They rushed her to Kilungu Sub-county hospital where, unfortunately, she passed away while undergoing treatment.

Students are advised to be responsible and take the wise counsel offered by their teachers and parents in order to avoid such incidents in the future. Religious leaders are equally called upon to take their rightful role in guiding and mentoring young adults, to becoming responsible adults in the future.

The reality is often too hash for people to consume and digest. Huyo ni singo matha who obviously made bad decisions in life, she was living in the slums and her daughter, lacking the guidance of a male moral figure in her life used her womanly wiles to try and escape from her poverty. Her mother, unwilling and unable to accept that her daughter had turned into a mirror image of herself quickly decided to begin introducing an moral male figure in her life. Unfortunately, dire poverty meant she could not afford the 50/= bob fare and she had to leg it despite being in poor health due to probably poor nutrition and undiagnosed medical conditions occasioned by her dire economic situation. it’s a brutal cycle of death in the slums.

kenya is a shithole country, this was a therapist case not a police case… huyu mama angepeleka the daughter kwa pastor at least, it would have been a less stressful situation, police are not here to deal with social issues and have no experience to advise about such. Also agree 19yo is an adult but still, mathe was worried about have to take care of her mistakes when they happen
