Mechanical to Electrical Conversions

Hello guys, I have an Isuzu Trooper with a carburetor engine and was thinking of converting the manual fuel pump to an electric one to help eliminate any chances of a hard start. I was also thinking of replacing the clutch fan with an electric one for more efficient cooling. Are these conversions worth the effort ama I should just stick to the stock parts? Give me your thoughts.

Ulitoa wapi hiyo gari?

I will never driver another carburetor Isuzu Trooper. Sijui kama ni uzee na mashida za engine but one time my uncle gave me his car during a burial nisaidie kubeba abiria. That car was a gas guzzler. Spent almost 8k to fuel. Nairobi to Nakuru n back. I think it had plus or some kind of problem coz hata kwa mlima ilikuwa inahema deadly

Banae vile umedescribe kuna vile @RayJohnroe ndiye uncle yako:D

Bought it from a neighbor.

Hehehehe this one is fuel efficient. I think I get like 9km/l for the engine size which is impressive. I only have an issue with the fuel pump breather yenye inamwaga oil. Other than that it is a great ride

Just replace the engine with the isuzu 3.3 diesel engine and the transmission to go with it , would be alot cheaper in the long run

:D:D:D

The engine is already running great. I just need to be done with the hard start issue.

Diesel engines are more efficient even compered to The vti engine let alone the caburated engine the 3.3 Isuzu diesel engine will cost you very little and the installation will be staright forward with minimal modifications

How much does that engine retail for? Any approximate cost?

Bout 70k complete with the trooper transmission

I will consider that. What about the clutch fan to electrical fan conversion? Would you recommend that?

My transmission is still good. How much would it cost minus the trooper transmission?

9 km per litre is efficient?

For a pickup? Very efficient

Weka fuel pump electric between the fuel line and carburettor. And how do you sort the morning hardstarts, unavutanga mafuta unamwagilia kwa air intake?
Wire the pump to acc power st ukiweka key acc inawaka. It floods the carburettor na fuel vile ambavo ukingurumisha inachukua na like the 3rd try.
Then jaza radiator na coolant, clutch fan za zama i evacuates heat better than electric in my opinion.

You will need to change the transmission too, the gear ratio of a petrol engine is quite different from that of a distal engine

Not a pick up. It averages between 9-10 which for 2500cc carburetor engine I find fair. My dad’s peugeot used to do worse than that.

I have a second car so I do not use the trooper much. So I usually use it during the day avoiding the morning cold hard starts. The temperature gauge takes a shorter time to reach the half mark but I will just retain the clutch fan. I have been using water mixed with coolant.
