Is it just me? I don’t get anything in these mbogi genje songs!!!
Does it make sense or are they just mentioning lots of complicated Sheng words?
But on the bright side, this whole gengetone is taking over the music industry in a good way. The rich artists are feeling it. Plus, for gengetone, you dont have to fit your voice in the keyboard!! The more horse/scratchy your voice is, the better for gengetone!!
You are right. This is pure luck! The music industry nowadays is 1% Talent and 99% luck
I guess that is the beauty of gengetone. It’s like people love trash words. They don’t care much about the choreography, video, costumes all those shitty expensive things that rich musicians can afford!
I have observed sheng has become a sort of reverse discrimination thing. The sheng in use in the 90s and 2000s was fairly simple and inclusive. From the 2010s onwards it’s become deliberately confusing and cryptic. They want to make it as difficult as possible for ‘outsiders’ to learn and understand.
Mbogi genje wako na talent in my view. Hao Wasee watatu ukiwaskiza wako na talent ajab kwanza kuna Ngoma inaitwa Kidungi mi unibamba sana. For the other gengetone, mimi sio target audience. But for this mbogi genje, I’m in. But yao inaitwa genje tune. .
Hii sheng ya sikuhizi ni umeffi tupu. Niggaz coming up with new words every hour kuoneshana hao ni magwiji. Unapata jamaa wa Kayole speaks totally different words from mtu wa umoja, yet they are just 3 km apart.
I expected mbogi genje to major in Riddim & dancehall ndio wapewe push na akina Redsan, wyre and producers like ZJ HENO. Lakini waaapi. In my opinion they’re slowly fading away after kuzoewa
