Looking for a laptop

Core i5, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD or more any leads?

Hizo specs hapa kanairo mfuko itapasuluwa na katikati. Buy Amazon and ship with Wariahe. It’s under 5kg so shipping won’t be too that much.

I hope you have very deep pockets. A laptop with that kind of specs doesnt come cheep.

Laptop lazima iwe ThinkPad X or T series

I don’t think so. Am sure you can find such for under 60k

If you had summoned the Nyamgondho appropriately, I would have given an in depth guide to acquiring your laptop.

Nevertheless, here a few pitfalls to avoid.

  1. Be very selective on the quality of your laptop screen. Check for the brightness level of your screen - Make sure that it reaches at least 300nits

  2. Be very selective of the generation of the processor and the version of the processor. A newer generation is always better.

  3. You can buy a cheaper laptop with 8Gb RAM single channel and then get an additional stick to make it 16Gb.

  4. check the available ports to see that they cover your use-case scenario

  5. Follow the advice of other talkers here.

Huwa wanalipisha ngapi?

Unless you are looking for a refurb. A normal i5 cant go under 60k yet it has 8GB RAM and no SSD just the normal 1TB HDD.

I had gotten lucky with this one https://www.newegg.com/p/1TS-001A-04PC3?Item=9SIA7ABFGU8314

Alternatively by locally 8gb ram and HDD 1tb i5
then literally import 1tb SSD and by 8gb ram locally - should be much cheaper (SSD laptops in Kenya are extremely overpriced - targeted at business executives)

Wueh! 13 inch at 155k? Kwani HP have become like Apple?

My view is buy a laptop like this from amazon and ship through the shipping agents go to crucial website and get a good ssd like a 1TB ssd is around 100 dollars do the shipping you will get value for money
