But isn’t it easier for an organization like the AU to resettle these people in peaceful African countries like Botswana, Gambia, Ghana etc?
Is this the same AU that continues to allow our fellow Africans to drown by the boatloads? Or a peaceful country like South Africa where they will face xenophobia? But where do people get this idea that America is the best place on earth? You know how far Cameroon is from the US? They had to fly all the way to South/Central America then join the caravans of people heading North, walking on foot way through Mexico. All that risk. Yaani they couldn’t settle in Mexico? A country where thousands of Americans choose to live there for retirement? Isn’t Europe closer? It’s ironic that for all the anger Africans have towards whites they still believe a white country is the best and safest place in the world.
You too could have opted to work in Kenya where your skills are very much needed or Gambia or Botswana. We all know that the odds are historically stacked against a common African. No denying our corrupt regimes don’t help. Usually those fleeing the situation have little power to change their circumstances. So they do what you did, the best for their families. And if they think going to the US or Europe is it they have a right to decide just like you did. And I know not everyone qualifies for immigration purposes. But returning families to a war torn place is beyond reprehensible. And to make it a priority when he should be handing over power confirms he is a hateful man.

Look, anyone can apply or walk or fly to America, whatever. It’s their choice and they’re more than welcome to take their chances. However, the US also has a right to respond accordingly with deportation. In the olden times when people migrated to new lands, they would collide with natives and wars would break out. No need to whine or say the system is “unfair”…after all, choices have consequences.
Look at the situation in France, Sweden etc. You think by helping some of these people they will be grateful?
