Kijiji Mechanic

I’m looking to sponsor my nephew who’s an orphan and didn’t score the cut off points to do an educational course and he is interested in doing a technical mechanics course. So which is the best option for him to learn the skill efficiently and effectively? For him to join a technical college or for him to go the old way to a yard with 30,000ksh and learn through apprenticeship from someone who’s experienced? Either way which is lucrative wiring and diagnostics or engine mechanic. I will appreciate your input on this since I wouldn’t want him to join @johntez addi gaza msafi in the streets.

Technical college kwanza, then internship kwa yard. There is education acquired by merely passing through these institutions. Atajua hadi kuishi na watu.
Kumpeleka direct to the yard and you might be grooming a hardcore criminal. Juu atafunzwa life na streets.

MY TWO CENTS.

Thanks for your input. Having spoken to the Mechanic that fixes my jalopy he was advocating on the latter which is apprenticeship claiming Technical colleges have too much theory and the practical aspect is minimal. Seeing how some mechanics are always in a drunken stupor your theory on him being groomed into a hardened criminal makes sense.

Aende Technical college during normal school hours, alafu weekends and holidays akae kwa garage. Wiring and diagnostics iko na pesa lakini ni ngumu kama yeye ni malenge. If he is smart, he can go for both, which will give him more opportunities.

leta yeye hapa DCI academy south c

Peleka yeye shule kwanza then ground baadaye .The end game should be to own a garage and not be a mechanic .Shule itasaidia sana

Yep, hapo yard atafundishwa tu fundamentals but in this age he should also learn motor vehicle electronics sanasana…hapo yard hio hufunzwi…alafu amtafutie mitambo ya auto key programming na kadhalika.

Vile mkubwa amesema hapa.

Peleka yeye N.I.T.A pale Industrial area they offer good programs and their graduate s are respected in the industry, buy him his first tool kit and a cheap OBD 2 computerized diagnostic tool and his good to go.

Shule kwanza alafu yard baadaye. With education you get to learn something that you wont learn at the garage

While most people are saying aende shule kwanza, I suggest the opposite. Aanze kwa street then aende shule while already earning. If he is sharp, YouTube University can teach him even the computerized side. In the end, he may afford his own education and also be able to choose any other course that can boost his job and qualifications.

Muandikishe DT Dobie training school. Expensive but worthy investment. He’ll be set for life na huko mornings ni class, afternoons workshop

Shule kwanza, gari zinabadilika they are getting more complex. At the village garage atabaki akidhani gari zote zikona L series engine ya Toyota Shark (H100) … Great engines they were btw, but they don’t make them like that anymore

Kijana akishika pesa atakubali masomo kweli?

Nmeona the DT Dobie training school and it’s a viable option I didn’t know it existed also read Toyota were to strart their own training school was it actualized?

Yeah and with fossil fuel engines becoming obsolete with the coming years being replaced with fully electric vehicles I believe anyone that jumps on this bandwagon early will be set for the transition.

YouTube?

you can learn anything pale YouTube

My mech went through it. I agree and endorse
