Kibaki was a great president, but he killed the arts

I have seen an interesting conversation by Tim Rimbui about how Kibaki gutted the arts (visual and performing) from the curriculum and GOK at every level. The fans and creators lost basic skills in the creation and consumption of what dope art is. We couldn’t export it. 20 years later our popular celebrities are Embaramba etc. This is the outcome.

Side note: I still insist… Embarambamba is a very sick individual, who needs help (forced or otherwise) to get mental treatment, and anyone who enjoys his performance is a sadist, who also needs to be checked. How can that be an entertaining man? Holy Crap!

Which art did Kibaki kill ?

kibaki how?

Kama ni 844 I was happy when they were scrapped.Unapata music doesn’t interest you kuzidisha it was being taught na maths teacher ametandika double lesson yote then akuje tena akutandike because you can’t read musical notes.

If they were optional and taught by artists or crafts teacher or proper musicians ingekuwa sawa.

I think it’s the opposite ! with a thriving economy the arts were elevated since people had loads of disposable income to spend on such ! Plus opening up the airwaves to digital signals meant unlike sometime back where u had to kiss NTV or KTN to get ur video played artisits got alot of avenues .Don’t forget the cheaper internet that led to people having alot of exposure.
