Kenyan Mentality

He is calling a spade a spade . The same country he is talking about is the same country that tz is , Sudan is and sadly south Africa is . Nairobi drainage system we have was built in 1950's when population was less than 1 million. Now we are over 5 million, will the same drainage system support that mass? And no administration picked up the issue? Is not self hate but something to do a research about.
Just so you know the British had advised against Nairobi being where it is and the proposed to have it moved upwards towards limiting because of precisely that drainage issue. They knew it would be problematic

The Nairobi you're talking about had less than 200,000 people.
The Nairobi you're talking about required non white people to get a permit to even be in it.
The Nairobi you're talking about was 1/10 the size of what it is today.
I would rather Nairobi be a sh*thole and we are free to live how the f*ck we want. Kaburu akwende na asiwahi rudi.
My virtual friend Africans in Kenya became free in 1963. What you have just posted taimajini haina sense

One of my lecturers was Nairobi city engineer somewhere between 1960-70. When they were designing Jogoo Road there was only one regular car going that route, the DC's. Not even in their wildest dreams did they imagine we would have the kind of traffic we have now on that route.

Essentially, for a very long time projects in Kenya were planned for in a period of 5 years. Vission 2030 was the first time Kenya plans for the country's projects & resources surpassed the 5-year cycle & transcended different govt administrations. This is after decades of shooting in the dark which dragged us into this mess.

Nonetheless, we are on the right path as far as planning for the future is concerned hence our grandchildren will live in a better city.
Mmmhhh...that issue of 5 year planning maybe during Moi’s time but earlier years Kenya had a blueprint or if you like a masterplan.
The issue even with the current development projects especially under these two characters is that they have been used to siphon public funds and the way they are being done is doing more harm to the economy than good.
This government is not bothered with Security, Governance, Justice key components of a country that wants to progress. They have focused on aspects that ensure they can line their pockets with money. ‘Software’ issues are non-issues to them.

Very true. Same case with Zimmerman-Roy Sambu. Developers began putting up highrise structures before the government constructed a sewer line. A water supply line designed for a Max of like 20k people suddenly has to cater for a population of almost 100k, which explains the perennial water shortages and overflowing septic tanks.
Then watu wa Planning wanakuja kusema oh we didn't know yet before any structure was put up they were notified and approved it knowing full well there will be need for water and sewer lines and roads. If they didn't have money they should have at least compelled the developers to leave space for such facilities.

The country lack a well coordinated masterplan not only for the country as a whole but for its cities. Just look at the case of Nairobi city, the city is expanding rapidly and most of agircultural areas in Kiambu that were meant for coffee have been destroyed and replaced with residential areas, cause there is no zoning laws avaialable which designate specifically certain areas for agircultural purposes, commerical purposes, residential aresa, public spaces and playgrounds , public markets and others. If at all there are any laws then it means these laws are not being adhered to because of wanton corruption in the goverment. The reason we have kiosks, bodabodas setting up anywhere any place is because of poor planning that is in place in our cities and goverment and reflect the lack of forethought among our leaders. It does not mean we should ban bodabodas or hawkers or mama mbogas, but lets have order, let everyone operate from designated places and stick to the laws governing their area so that we have a proper welll managed city instead of a city of chaos, disorganization and lawlessness that now it is

Guys, guys, guys...that's the best we can do, as African, it has been proven scientifically before. Remember the IQ levels is normally 15 points lower than the colonizers, ... (Without prejudice)
:D Even James Watson they guy who discovered the structure of DNA said there is something wrong with us Africans. We are of low intelligence and to make matters worse its genetic! I mean the guy is a racist mathafaka but could he be on to something?

My uni professor said he feels the same about Rongai. In their time, it was a bush full of goat tracks. It grew by itself without a plan and the result is what we have today.

On this I think planners wamelala. Before a developer ajenge anywhere they know and should plan for it.
I beg to differ on this Rongai issue. Last year (2017), when there was a hype about building a dual carriage way from Bomas - Kona Baridi, a survey exercise was done where it was established that the way-leave for Magandi road plan as at 1958 was 30m wide. Beacons were being located under story buildings,,,this only means one thing, plans were there for an overpopulated Nairobi before the Mzungu went, its the Nyeuthis who took over power who overruled the former plans...By the way, huyo prof ni nani, we need to audit his academic Projects/Thesis/Published documents/Newspaper columns to authenticate his/her title...

I am hard pressed to ask to ask myself questions I cannot answer. Why are Africans (especially Kenyans) careless, disorganized and show lack of forethought. We must call a spade a spade and a shithole a shithole. The whites left a clean, well organized Nairobi City which was run by laws but Kenyans collapsed the city and now we have a huge unplanned city full of chokora, garbage, crime, foul smell and very bad thing name it sprawling up. Even the tea estates which the whites used to manage at home but handed over to blacks soon collapsed and people became jobless. What is the reason behind this behaviour among the majority of Africans. Should they be recolonized. It seems education is not bringing about civilization amongst Africans. It is disgusting to walk across the capital city to find someone relieving himself just across the city. Just have a look at the video of Nairobi City of 1960s and now and see how we are fast losing direction and focus. From a beautiful well organized and manicured lawns in the city to a disorganized city full of lawless people who litter anywhere they can find, bodabodas who cross the road anywhere any time and have taken over sidewalks meant for pedestrians..kweli waafrika. Tufanye nini jameni
Not all Africans, Kigali is extremely clean and well organized that you might be forgiven to think it is not in Africa which we understand is an outlier.
There is something wrong with us, in much as we might hate to admit it, Africans (especially Kenyans) are a strange race look at how we drive on our roads, how we steal from the poor and glorify thieves and crooks, how we die of flooding in one season and die of hunger the next, how we allow every other developed country to shaft our own country whenever we have dealings with them, etc.

African who call it as he sees it. We must speak the truth our fellow black africans have ruined our city and country big time
Greed and Corruption ni vile we are a young civilization with too much technology ie plastics than we can manage. The developed older cities atleast had an organic evolution and from unplaned cities with no waste disposal to gleaming cities they are today... we cant compare them give us time ata sisi tujipange
