Free KFC meal
Free Java meal
50% off on KFC meal
50% off on Java meal x 2
50% off on Mama Rocks Burgers
500 /- voucher
290 /- voucher
50% for a bottle of Absolut Vodka 1 Liter

Plus many other deals that were occasionally listed as exclusive to Jumia Prime members that I can not remember.

You think they are wasting money but they are not.

Are you dumb

Are you dumb or pretending to be?

hakuna lanye

They’ve made a loss every year since they came to Kenya in 2012.

What’s their Customer Acquisition Cost ratio?
How many Kenyans shop for food online?
I have a feeling this is another case of Europeans not understanding the African Landscape?
How has alluding that I am dumb enhanced the discussion?

Do you mean @LongerTime is blowing smoke

You don’t have to believe what they say.

It’s publicly listed on the NYSE. You can fuck around with KRA all you want, but if the IRS investigates and finds you were messing around with American Investors and by extension their potential revenue source…
Also they are already facing a law-suit in New York that claims they overstated their active customer base. It could be they are giving out these freebies to boost their active customer base and beat that case.
The other theory is they are giving out these freebies for the food vendors to think collaborating with Jumia Foods is beneficial.

Whatever the case, I do not think Jumia is profitable. And I don’t think it will ever be. As soon as they run out of other people’s money and they run out of gullible investors, they will fold for good. Best case scenario is they get a strategic investor like Amazon or Ali Baba that already has the technical know how to make the logistics end work. Even then, Africa is a tough nut to crack. The future is bleak for Jumia and they are wasting other people’s money even faster than ever before.

If you are getting free stuff online, then you are the product. That’s the only way it works.

Oh btw, Jumia’s entire senior leadership is European and based in Dubai. And the technical team is still European, based in Portugal…
We’ll see how long it lasts.

I find it funny when people just quote soundbites for the sake of it. So who are Jumia selling me to? What info are they extracting from me?
This is just a shambolic marketing exercise at best. An ongoing fraud at worst.

By the way if they were lying, they’d be lying to be profitable to halt the plummeting value of their stock. From 40 USD in 2019 at he height of American gullibility to 2 USD now. Also if I was an investor, I’d really like to know how many Jumia Prime members are actually paying members. I’d imagine not very many. I’d hazard a guess many of us were given free membership to pad the numbers.

These folks have not made any profits for the longest time and have been crowdfunding to finance their operations. For them to convince investors, they need to demonstrate that they are still in business and one easy way to do this is to provide a summary of the traffic they attract daily/monthly as well as the subscribers/members during the same period as proof of the potential they have. Additionally, they will also use these numbers when charging for targeted adverts placed on the site. In short, numbers mean everything. When they give you a free subscription, it is also a win for them because they know that more numbers will ultimately work in their favour.

Another way to look at it is that there is probably a system error that allows you to enjoy the benefits you highlighted without their knowledge. If this is the case, which I highly doubt, then enjoy the privilege.

Kfc makes 44 shillings ,one drumstick goes for less than a hundred at whole sale, viazi,na packaging not more than 40bob,so,kwa food ya mia tisa (ama unakula ile ya 300bob?..)ununue 450… Anyway, depends on how many discounts they’ll give in a month. Nikiwa job, tulikua tuna ingia na job discount card in some places. We came to find out ,job ilikua inalipa percentage from the discount mwisho wa mwezi

ever wondered why army depos or UN commissary sell these things at throw away price and still make profit?
