"I GOT WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED, NOW WHAT"

Greetings people. It’s been a while, it’s a new year and another chance to pursue all that’s good and righteous.

Every single one of us on this planet has an emptiness, a void that leaves us wanting to be satisfied however “happy” we tell ourselves we are. Some call it the quarter-life crisis, the mid-life crisis others depression and so on. That space we have in us is the main reason people dive into hobbies, cults, groups, sex, drugs, money and other things that we look to give us meaning. And not to be misunderstood, I think having good hobbies is a wonderful thing, the issue only comes in when we run to these things to fill that gap.

We all know that emptiness we’ve felt a couple of times when we’re alone and ask ourselves “So this is it?” I’ve worked hard, achieved the goals I set for myself and now that I’ve finally made it, I question life and ask if it was really worth it. You’ve bought the new car that you’ve always longed for, yes you’re happy and all but after a few months you get used to it and the ‘‘happiness’’ fades. You’ve fornicated with a few women here and there, you’re proud of yourself when you’re around your boys but deep down you’re still empty and you know that that there is more to life than such, you weren’t put on this world for this crap. Now you’re lying on your bed deep in your thoughts asking yourself what exactly life is really about, the cycle continues, it leads to a depressive mental state and it all goes downhill from there.

For those who will never get a chance to be wealthy in their lives, I’ll save you some energy and tell you what happens when you finally get that wealth. I’ll refer to Solomon who is the wealthiest man to ever exist and who I believe was in a semi-depressed state or regretful state when he wrote the book of Ecclesiastes. The man who had it all, the money, power and women said life was meaningless.
So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. Ecclesiastes 2:18-19

Solomon, who unfortunately ventured away from God like most of the people who get into riches do, rambled in most of that book and the only important thing he said and that he ended in, was to live life to please God. Because at the end of the day, if we are honest with ourselves, no one on their deathbed regrets not ever sleeping with 1000 women, no one regrets not drinking the most expensive alcohol and whatever. They all regret not spending enough time with their family and think about where they are going next.

Jesus already told us that there is no true happiness in this world, let not people’s facades in public fool you. Guys are sad, miserable and dead inside looking for answers everywhere, yet it’s right in front of them. Answers are found in the scriptures, the truth is Jesus Christ, the only beggoten Son of God.

Be blessed each and every one of you.
