I approve @Sopranos approach to old flagships

Even a dead clock is right twice. But @Soprano has been right a lot more times. If you stick to an idea long enough it could turn to be true.

Truth is instead of buying a Xiaomi phone or some Nokia you are better off buying a refurbished flagship from yester years with 4 years of assured updates. If you buy s10 you will get android 12 all the way to 14. Thats impressive considering a Xiaomi may only get MIUI updates only based on the original Android version. Nokia with its hardware problems etc etc.

However for older flagships I can only recommend Samsung, Apple and Google. Hizo zingine can easily renege on their promises. Scrap apple coz of minimized customization on their OS.

Assume all old flagships sold in kenya are refurbs. Then learn the difference between refurbished, open box, seller refurbished and manufacturer refurbished as well as used. And also familiaze yourself with individual resellers and company resellers. Then only Import don’t buy local unless the price is right. Ask me why in the comments below kama hujashikanisha.

As for Nyamgondho wuod Ombare he tries to buy items as soon as they are announced before there is even a resale/refurbishment or a used market. Like the Jabras I have posted below. Bought them immediately they were announced and paid full price. Unfortunately they went out of stock and delivery was pushed forward. Mimi unless they are simple peripherals that I can buy 50 times without feelinga pinch, I am the earliestof buyers sometimes even before established reviewers like MKBHD get their free units.

How many times do you buy phones, laptops, TVs in a year?

While I get your point of not wanting to be sold a refurbished product repackaged as new which alot of people are falling prey to, yes even those mall shops at Sarit, Jamia, 2Rvrs, Junction etc do that…don’t you think being ‘the earliest of buyers’ is also risky when you get a product full of problems from launch day & as you know returns for imports is almost next to impossible.

Huyu ni mlevi from elite families wa dynasties. Wale hutafutiwa job mtu akiwa high school, he only needed to get the basic qualifications na akaigia job first salary ni 100K+. Simu zake huwa anachiana makuro kwa madanguro. He can always buy a new one.
