How did Sabbath change from Saturday to Sunday?

So the OT, Exodus 20:8-10 is clear the 7th day is the Sabbath … “8-Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9-Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10-but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.”

Now, before we start debating which day is the 7th day, I think the NT is clear Jesus was buried on Friday and since the next day (Saturday) was the sabbath, the women had to wait a day before going to his tomb to apply spices. So which scriptures are modern day Christians using today to justify switching Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday? I know Paul in Romans said no day is more special than the other but still he never said stop observing Saturday Sabbath and switch to Sunday. Anyway, I heard a certain mischievous Jewish Rabbi (who I think specializes in pissing off Christians) claim Christian Sunday worship is based on pagan Sun worship started by early church father Ignatius of Antioch(1st-2nd century). I tried to verify these claims but all I found was a Christian blog (clearly SDA) which somewhat seems to agree with him though the SDAs claim yes it is based on sun worship but it was made official by Roman Emperor Constantine in the 4th Century. On the other hand, non SDA Christians claim Sunday worship is done to commemorate the day Jesus resurrected but they all more or less admit there is no scriptural basis for the switch from Saturday to Sunday. Anyway, I don’t understand what the purpose for Easter is if already Sunday Sabbath is a reminder of the day Jesus resurrected. Brethren, why do you worship on Sunday and not Saturday??

Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, arguments, and quarrels about the law, because these things are pointless and worthless.

1 Timothy 1:4
or devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculation rather than the stewardship of God’s work, which is by faith.

Mathew 18:19
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

God requires that out every 7 day cycle you dedicate one day to him. Whether it is Monday, Tuesday, Friday etc is irrelevant. You only need to agree upon a day and make it known unto God it is your sabbath then the scripture in Mathew 18:19 will take effect. This argument of saturday, friday… etc is all foolishness and pointless.

read about the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great (ca A.D. 280– 337 ), you will be enlightened

Hehe, I know he claimed to be a Christian but also openly worshipped this sun god called Apollo or Mithras.

But God said you dedicate the 7th day, not just any day. Aren’t you concerned Sunday worship was originally done to honor the Sun god and now Christians have joined the bandwagon and even abandoned the true Sabbath?

In the Old Testament, the Hebrews worshipped on Saturday which is the last day of the week but now we are under a new covenant, so the Lord’s day shifted to Sunday the first day of the week.
Christ rose from the grave on His day, so what a beautiful symbolism that the church of Christ worships on the day when He conquered sin and the grave.

This isn’t entirely true, the word Sabbath literally means Saturday in Hebrew or alsabat in Arabic , God’s commandment says "
Exodus 20:8-11
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

No where does it say , one can choose any other day other than the Sabbath, ie Saturday to rest as God did
ie am not a seventh day Adventist, just a seeker of the truth

Jesus said in Matthew 5:17
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Very explicit words from Jesus,
what you’ve quoted isn’t biblical, just some doctrines conceived by mere mortals

Monday or Tuesday can also be my seventh day it all depends on where you start counting your working days. Seventh day will always come after 6 days of working regardless of where you start counting. I don’t think the scripture specifies which day a week begins. I’d be happy to read on it if you can quote the scripture that says Sunday is the first day of the week.

Saturday is day dedicated to a Roman god Saturn who is the god of plenty and wealth. How you claim it is the Jewish Sabbath is amazing. In fact all the weekdays are derived from either names of pagan gods or their festivals.

Christians are not under Mosaic law.
Galatians 4:9-11

The Babylon system that chased Elijah in circles is still alive and running our civilization. It is important for the modern day Christian to be led by the holy spirit. Do not worship God in the flesh you will only end up forming a religious belief system that is worthless instead of having a one to one relationship with Jesus. If you stayed in a church for more than two years and you have not witnessed God raising either a new prophet, evangelist, deliverance minister, tongues speaker etc it is a red flag you are in a dead church without the holy spirit.

Yes but where is the scripture that sanctioned this change? I’ve researched this change and there are strong accusations it was based on anti-Semitism (hate for Jewish sabbath and desire to disassociate with it) and sun worship introduced by Constantine who then made Sunday a mandatory rest day for everyone. The Jesus conquering sin symbolism makes celebrating Easter redundant… don’t you think?

But scripture, New Testament, specifies Sabbath is Saturday. So obviously first day of the week is Sunday.

So does the Old Testament matter or not?

The Jews had the 7th day in their calendar long before Roman occupation.

:D:DEvery day is a blessing… only apes would not see that and argue over the white man’s instructions on the day of prayer…

Jesus resurrected on Sunday so that’s Him who hallowed that day as the Lord’s day, for worship. It is implied by the resurrection…Every Sunday is a celebration of Christ’s resurrection and the hope that one day, even if we die, the power of Jesus will bring us back to life and we shall enter into the perfect eternal Sabbath rest on the 8th day. Sunday is not only the first day but the eighth day (8 is infinity-sideways) of the week.
There are several verses in the Bible which talk about the 8th day (a shadow of the real sabbath day). Here are some of them…

Leviticus 23:36
For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the Lord; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.

Nehemiah 8:18
He read from the book of the law of God daily, from the first day to the last day. And they celebrated the feast seven days, and on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly according to the ordinance.

Leviticus 23:39
‘On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day.

Ezekiel 43:27
When they have completed the days, it shall be that on the eighth day and onward, the priests shall offer your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you,’ declares the Lord God.”

Galatians 4:9-11
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain

where does it say the law of Moses is obsolete?
