He raised his employees salary to 70k dollars

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvHwyrem24M

70,000÷(40×52) = 33.65.
He’s paying them approximately $33.65 per hour. Assuming it’s a 40 hr week gig.

Najua ni united slaves of america, but surely even they do not work 52 weeks a year.

Even if you factor in paid vacation time and holidays, it still adds up to 52 weeks in an year

Hehehe you have a point… The average annual wage in the US is 50k usd so he’s paying above average by that metric but if you dig deeper and look at wage levels state by state, the Washington(where he is based) average is 69,000 dollars a year. So ni PR tu

Pay per hour worked is higher than you quoted, when you count the actual hours worked.
Apparently 70k per year is all you need to live a happy life. Research says beyond that is vanity. I disagree but hey.

:D:DThat is new to me. Very true!!

How else would you compute it ?

I was only being a smart arse.

Wash wash hajasema kila mtu apewe 70k. 70k is the minimum. If the couples are now able to buy houses and have more kids clearly the jobs where they live could not offer anything better. He also said turnover is down by 50% obviously that means after the 70k floor, it’s gotten harder to get a better option.

Huko ni utumwa my fren, you eat, sleep and work. Not like us here where you do 8 to 5 and have 30 days paid leave and 2 weeks off for the holidays. Enda huko utajua Kenya hakuna kazi tuna fanya and we live a very pampered life, jioni uneza pitia rafikiz ama weekend. Huko ni rat race. That’s why I always say wealthy people live in Kenya. If you are in US especially uwezi Sema you are wealthy. That’s why Wanjigi and ilk all live in Kenya yet they have homes in different countries abroad. Kenya is the best place to live in this world if you have money.

They live in Kenya because they would be nobodys in the US. We have our culture in Kenya. Americans have their culture. An old man like Wanjigi from Githunguri will never trully be accepted. And his lifestyle will take a hit. For example, he will have trouble finding people to worship him solely because he has money. He will wake up on a Monday and realize he received one call through the weekend. He will miss the 100s of calls he gets in Kenya from who is who. And he wouldnt be as rich as he is in Kenya. The dollar will pound his ownings.

He’s a wealthy guy even by American standards. How many Americans can afford to take their kids to Swiss Boarding Schools, own chateau in France, apartments in nearly every European country. Wanjigi is extremely wealthy even by American standards.

That he is wealthy is not my argument. I can’t dispute what he owns outside Kenya, but it is more fiction that fact. You’ll be told Biwott owns a town in Australia, until you get there and can’t find it. Btw middle class Westerners can comfortably afford those Swiss schools. Just Google the tuition. And also take a minute to understand definition of what Middle class in Canada, UK……is. It’s not like Kenya where only rich can put their kids in Braeburn.

Regardless of what Wanjigi owns or doesn’t own. He is in the top 0.001% of wealth in the world. I do not know about the rest of the western world, but in central and nothern europe which have in my opinion the most advanced societies on earth, not many people can afford those Swiss schools. The public schools are fine enough either way, so no big deal. International Schools in Europe are out of reach for an overwhelming majority of the population.
