Detectives on Tuesday arrested a man in Nairobi who is suspected to have participated in the theft of Sh140 million in Dubai eight months ago.
Mr George Gitau Maina, 28, becomes the second suspect to be arrested after Kenyan police, working with Interpol, arrested Ms Rebecca Mweni Musau from whom they recovered Sh13 million from her new house in Ruai in July.
The three Kenyan suspects are believed to have escaped after the robbery and United Arab Emirates security officials started their search in collaboration with Kenyan and Interpol officers.
In March, after the police in Dubai wrote to the Kenyan authorities asking them to help in tracing the Kenyans who had pulled the ‘Italian job’ on a vehicle transporting cash to an ATM in a shopping mall.
An official from the company told Khaleej Times that they informed the police about the theft.
He said when the vehicle stopped at the mall in Deira, the Kenyan guard distracted the other guards and fled with the cash.

Inaeza kuwa they chartered a fishing vessel/Dhow. all the way to Lamu. Is that even possible?
If you take your time and become more calculating utatoka na hela zako zote. First step si ni kununua foreign passport kama ya Uganda then travel by road na mita zako.

Good question.
Kenyan airports are very porous but hio ya Dubai sioni.
Pale Nat Geo nliona an Armenian trying to enter Australia using a fake passport. Passport inakaa so authentic and had to undergo intensive forensic scrutiny to establish its a tampered one. Considering that leaving a country isn't doesn't have intensive scrutiny kama kuingia, unabuy fake passport maybe ya Egypt. Once out of DUbai the rest is veery easy. To make your exit easy, kaa Dubai for four months till the steam cools off watu wakusahau ukule uongeze kilo halafu viola!

Lakini traveling with that kind of cash ni tricky. Unless they had someone else wire on their behalf
