Somebody who goes about asking about personal family details is problematic.
Unless it is their immediate family that they live with like a wife, what does their relationship with their parents have to do with job performance??? Their schedule after the office is personal. In fact, I think this would be a privacy violation in a lot of countries.
Anyway,such nonsense only occurs because employers have the freedom to choose from several applicants, which is why it is good to go into a sector where there is high demand, globally and where you can get training that makes you stand out from the rest.
In essence, anyone rejecting you from an interview will know that you will end up with a competing firm and will thus never serve you such nonsense
