First time driver car choice

Hey, I need some advice for my first car choice in January. I have 700K - 850K and trying to figure out what car best suits my need. i.e. good ground clearance, family car, work car and both going to Nyeri to visit forks with 1.5 - 1.8L. I am away with this budget I can only get a locally used car. So far option I have seen are 2011 - 2012 Axio, axela, Honda Insight, Honda Shuttle and Toyota Rush(2009).

What do you guys think?

@Azor Ahai ako na nissan murano alinunua na 30000X profit ya shiba inu

Rather than buying used, I would go for a cleab ex Japan Note, Vitz or Honda.

Haitakula pesa yako. Just regular service and Lube job.

following …meanwhile is it advisable to buy a zero mileage VW Golf @1.6m on loan pale DT Dobie? nimeangukia some very good loan terms at 3% annual interest for 7 years

Local 2006 Toyota wish 650-750k KCA and above.
Import - Mazda Axela ama Toyota axio

Utapewa basic trim. Ata zingine ata don’t have power windows.

Ahaa alright a foreign used car

I would advise, take a Nissan note KDG,mpya, iinue juu…u will get a relatively good ground clearance.
Get DIGs, even if it’s 1200cc, it pick close or better than some lazy 1500cc cars.

It’s spacious inside than seen from outside.

Wee ebu niambia where I can get 3%

Alright

This is noted, A friend also mentioned Ryder version of this is good.

Sure, I have noted this. Not sure what is the current value. I think is 1.2 - 1.3M

You can go for it, they’ve warranty for 3 years, the only thing to worry about is normal service which is not an issue .Hizi zingine za 8 years ni pata potea tu, you never know when a serious part will warrant replacing.

Import kagari kadogo mpya hio bei inatosha

Buy a small ex japan car. it will cost like 850k. Good thing it will be in pristine condition with nothing to fix here and there. Sometimes the only thing to fix is suspension when they come with worn shock absorbers. Avoid cvt transmission it doesnt matter if its a toyota or wharever. avoid it.
If you are not comfortable with a small car you can buy something like an axela. from experience avoid locally used cvt at all costs its a lot of drama and thats why many cars are on sale.
dont buy something older than 2010. Also know that the condition of the body is the most important because the rest is easily fixable.
And looking for a car locally is such a tiring job.

With that budget and the class of cars you are looking at, ground clearance won’t be your friend, but it’s something you can make do with. The rest of your requirements any car should handle, going to work, family car (assuming <= 5) and going to nyeri. Lakini as mentioned above with your first car you want as few breakdowns as possible, so if you can get a clean import as advised above that would be ideal

I think its a good deal if you are comfortable with the size and options. they make the car for local terrain driving. but be careful with options. sometimes you can be sold a cheap car but small things like windows ni manual na radio ni ile ya cassette.

Buy local used. There are good cars out there. The only thing ku avoid ni ile imefanya taxi…check service history. Many people take care of their cars. Sijawahi ona mtu hatunzi gari alinunua na pesa yake.

I bought my first car locally, it was the best deal I got.

Wow, thank you for the insight

Thank you much appreciated for the advice

Do tell how you check the service history, yet most Kenyans take their jalopy to akina omosh for servicing.
