Kama kawaida, both Benzes will start this afternoon’s race at the front after a somewhat interesting Qualifying session yesterday. V. Bottas beat Lewis Hamilton for pole following his renewed contract at Mercedes, securing his seat till 2021. A win today will definitely add some pressure on Hamilton and renew the Finns battle for his maiden championship.

Nico Hulkenberg will start from the second row next to Max Verstappen. The Hulk holds the record for most career starts (177) without a podium finish. Starting the race behind Mercedes comes as a big boost for the German and hopefully today, he can get his first podium since starting his F1 career back in 2010.

Renault is also looking to fight for a podium position with Ricciardo in P5 behind former Red Bull teammate Verstappen.

Ferrari’s performance woes continue as they only have one car (Leclerc) in the top 10 following Qualifying. S. Vettel had an engine failure in Free Practice and failed to get into the top 10 for Sunday’s race.

I think Ferrari’s focus is squarely on the young Leclerc. On the other hand, Vettel’s contract with the marque ends this season and is set to join Racing Point/Aston Martin for 2021.

70 years ago, Alfa Romeo won the First F1 Championship race held at Silverstone and filled all three podium positions on British soil. Today, they start from the back of the field showing as veteran Raikkonen audibly pissed off about their lack of pace.

Mercedes finished Qualifying almost a full 1 second ahead of the rest so they’ll probably fill out P1/2. The real battles will be fought for that final podium place and points positions.

Red Bull, Racing Point, Renault are all in contention for P3 and you know how Max is a hard nut to crack. Also, The midfield scraps are always ex
citing to watch.

Definitely looking forward to today’s race.

Racing Point ni washienzi sana. They’re ready to sacrifice Perez, who consistently outperforms his vehicle and Lance Stroll, for Vettel. Sawa, Vettel is a 4 time world champion, but the fact is he’s been seriously underwhelming. People keep saying ati sijui the Ferarri car doesn’t fit with his driving style, lakini being at a top tier team for more than 5 years with such inconsistencies shows he’s not at the top of his game anymore.

Even with a shittier car than Mercedes and Redbull, Leclerc still scores podium finishes and top fives, with vettel being several positions behind. So the only logical reason for Racing Point to replace Checo with Vettel is because the German will bring them more money in form of endorsements, not because he’s a better driver.

Definitely, Perez is an awesome driver. I doubt he will leave the grid anytime soon ju ata yeye ako na some strong backing and a few options with other teams.
It would be a shame if RP will sacrifice him to accommodate Vettel. Lakini money talks, just look how far Stroll Snr. has come, the guy bought RP, put his son in the seat and now he’s about to turn the outfit into Aston Martin racing, a proper works team, with a 4-time champ on call.
I’d rather Stroll be let go but we know that’s not going to happen.

Lawrence Stroll is the financier wa Racing point. Yes Perez is a better driver than Stroll but racing point dont want to lose that financing. Because if his son is out his money is not in play. Look at Williams.
I think he is looking to bring Aston Martin into play.

Obviously it’s impossible to fire Stroll because his dad is writing the cheques. I made the comparison strictly between Perez and Vettel. Other than the possibility of Vettel bringing in more sponsorship than Perez, there’s no reason for Racing Point to replace the Mexican. He consistently outperforms his teammate as well as pushing the vehicle to the limit, while Vettel is the opposite. Even with a superior Ferrari, he underperforms.

Sergio Perez has more points than Stroll, despite missing last week’s race. He has more than double Vettel’s points. So from a strictly performance-based perspective, there’s no viable reason for Vettel to replace him.

Mercedes have been matched today
