This nigga led one of the biggest doctors’ strikes in 2017,i mean ONE HUNDRED DAYS…During that time, nurses, clinical officers and lab personell were on work and literally held the country’s health care in their hands…since then he’s been so vocal and at one time i actually thought the new crop of doctors would actually bring hope…(FYI,i rarely trust doctors who’s entry grade to the university was determined by KCSE exams done from 2007 to 2015 before matiangi came in to streamline things)…because we all know how examination fraud was rampant those days and most A’s students from that era could barely managed a B(minus) if they were to be examined during matiangi’s era…And i dont need to justify my mistrust coz you have all been hearing of stories from geetrudes and other private hosiz about young doctors and mismanagement, recently we all heard of the nairobi women’s hospital daily target leaks…But that’s not to say that there are genuine yound dokis…wako…a good number too…
Anyway back to oluga, guy got vocal sana na akasumbua county governments nini nini, laikipia, kirinyaga, kisumu, etc…So come early this year i think gava wakaona uyu mtu amekuja sana…and decided to reward him awache mehemehe mob…Wellguess who is now the Chief officer of health at the newly formed nairobi metrpoliSHITan Service…Yea…sasa mjamaa ako kwa serikali…ile serikali wamekuwa wakivutana…Sasa ata sababu yangu kuongelelea hii story,ni kwa sababu since the appointment sijakuwa nikimskia…sasa recently healthworkers are threatening to strike coz their demands are yet to be met…Nigga ata bila kublink ametokea kwa news saying oh…“this is not the time to be selfish”…oh “not the time to say that healthworkers are important coz we all know they are”…So,yes it is true to some point but look at who is saying it…Ananikumbusha vile we had hopes na moha jicho pevu
Ata nimejam…i mean this is the time the government should try not to compromise with the welfare of healthworkers…and they dont seem to be asking much.but i think what irks them is the ridiculous budget breakdowns being thrown around but uko chini nurse ata gloves hana
To rise to any level of power or influence in Kenya you must be compromised so that whenever necessary you can be coerced or co-opted into upholding the status quo. This is why most executives prefer appointing their relatives to key dockets. Loyalty becomes a family obligation and not just a professional courtesy or favour.
Why would you be disguted? You thought the 100 days strike was a good thing? A doctor who comes and says Lipa Kama Tender is the one you call a “new crop of doctors?” Wow.
Zamani medicine ilikuwa kazi ya kujitolea kama Yesu. There was a time surgeons used to be paid with a chicken or a sack of potatoes.
Today medics are the greediest and most corrupt assholes in society.
Unaenda Nairobi hosi anakukula anakurusha kwa beshte yake akunyang’anye pia… huyo naye anakutupa kwa another former classmate… by the time you leave you came in with one ailment but leave with 4! Plus 6 appointments to see “specialists”.
I just genuinely want to understand you (I’m being very hoest.) Why would a doctor who sings “Lipa Kama Tendeer” and leave hundreds of people to die “Give you hope?”
yeah…they almost gave me hope coz at first their proposals included a whole umbrella of healthcare improvements…you know, better hospitals infrastructure, more employments, provision of supplies and of course salary increase…but once the salary part got addressed, all the other seemingly good proposals got shelved…and they never kept pushing as much…otherwise if they had seen those proposals through, systems would be working and we wouldn’t be having the instability in healthcare
that is what happens buda ukienda hapo chiromo uone class inaanza na watu wangapi first year there is a massive drop off of students at the beginning of the second semester and the continue decreasing till graduATION
Why are you surprised?
Most of the Kenyan doctors are after their own aggrandizement. The only thing they protest about is salaries, never about the systems etc because they benefit from the flawed system.
If really serious reforms on healthcare were to be passed, you would see the same doctors on the streets complaining of oppression.
