Discovery or Range Rover?

What is better for long runs, not just town trips and short skids, Discovery or Range Rover ?

Range Rovers are actually meant for country runs. It is one of the most capable off roaders on the planet.
Get yourself a v6 or a v8 engine and you will be coming back here to thank me every single day you get behind that wheel.

If your budget is low, I’d suggest you have a look at Subarus, they have a bad reputation, but they are capable vehicles. Long runs to where? If it is country and you are in range spend, then toyota v8 engines are nearly as capable while being more reliable.
Discovery wachia wanawake. I know top gear likes it. But for me, I drove it once and once was enough to say no.
You can never go wrong with a range rover (except underpowered ones and evoques). Only your money can go wrong with a range.
The other thing is the ladies get wet when you roll in with a range.

Why do used Range Rovers seem problematic? I vote Disco… I have seen most reviews and they all point to it being quite reliable. Additionally I personally feel the body shape of a disco beats a range rover hands down. And I can get a 3 liter diesel to avoid the guzzling range rover
What problems did you experience driving a disco? Is it the handling?
.

That’s because used range rovers ARE problematic. Why else would someone sell what’s practically their wife? Yeah discoveries are given thumbs up by most reviewers. But the comparison here is with a range! It’s like comparing living in Karen against Langata. Same city, next door neighbours, but the feeling is different. It’s not just the handling, even the pull, you step on the gas and you don’t feel excited. What’s the highest engine spec on a discovery?

No car can beat an Outback for country runs. Ticks all boxes… Reliability, speed, capability, comfort

I prefer the smaller brother, the pre-2013 Forresters. Not as much room, not as much luxury, but the drive!
But a Range Rover Sport beats all Subarus without exception on every box. That’s why like for like you pay at least 3 times more.
And to be honest any range below 10 m is going to be a lemon.

The price range of a discovery is very different from that of a range… so this comparison is null and void. If you can afford a good discovery, buy a prado instead, if you can afford a a clean range, buy a v8 instead… full stop

If you can afford a range buy a range. If you can afford a v8 range be a god.

Why do I get the feeling you are spying on my home laptop?

ii ndio ilikua discovery ya mwisho,
izi vitu zengine wanatengeza sa ii ni mikebe meant for low self esteemed middle class people like Donald Kipkorir, who let money and cars speak for them, because they are not men amongst men

Huko Borana Ranch kwenye izo magari huwa tested huwa wao wanatumia land rover za 1990’s na 80’s, hawawezi nunua izi mpya.

Did you know Disco was originally from HONDA…

Reliability issues galore. Choose another brand

My friend try a Disco 4 2012

Shida ya hizi magari ni Sensor

Av never driven a V8 but I hear they are the best cars Toyota made. It is said so loudly though I have my doubts

But if you want a Range Rover with minimalist budget do a Disco.4 (2012) Ex. Uk don’t ever dare buy a local. Utalia

Neither, IMO. Unless you’re buying new or you’re a mechanic. They have a myriad of issues, but I’ll just mention the air suspension for now. I’ve seen some kits for converting to coil spring suspension, but I don’t know how much that would cost.

I think it is to a significant extent the suspension that makes the range rover a range rover at least in terms of off-roading capabilities. If you want one just to be driving in a range rover, then yea, you can convert to inferior suspensions.

Air gives a smooth ride for comfort driving, I’d never bet on it for off-roading.

The air suspension is variable, you can change suspension travel, rigidity and ride height on demand making the car very good in seemingly mutually exclusive applications
