changing language on car audio

I bet this might have been asked, but I could not find the thread. is anyone capable of changing the audio system from Japanese to English? Trust me, I am super technical and have explored all options using translator options to navigate to language options, but there is just no way of resetting or changing language. am damn sure it can only be fixed by reinstalling the software, akin to reinstalling OS on a PC. Does anyone have the software and is able to install on Japanese car audio systems with English as the default?

Depends on the car audio in question, some have only Japanese since they are cars that were meant for the Japanese domestic market.
Just change the system, some software overwrites go back to the default Japanese if the battery is removed.

Which car audio system? Some can be changed for Mazda Carrozeria and Mitsubishi MMCS

A good head unit costs at least 35000, I would love to know where to get the English software. I have an atenza radio panasonic/sanyo.

model NHZT-W58. by the way, most radios are not specific to the car model, especially if its the kawaida mwananchi Japanese model. They are generic and you can find the same model of radio on multiple car models.

i agree, the performance of radio from the factory is top-notch, the reason I don’t want to imagine going for an aftermarket radio. the language sucks while tuning, but when tuned, the output is dope.

certainly factory unit is very good in terms of music. an equivalent sony/panasonic with english and google maps replacement costs 35-40k. One with a dedicated subwoofer channel will cost at least 38k. Other aftermarket stereos are short lived, have poor UI, and have poor sound. The major shortcut is usually the inbuilt amplifier, screen, and navigation. that said, the factory radio maps is useless.

some japanese manufacturers have their custom software inbuilt.

You are better of getting a universal audio system from Sony, Panasonic. Thing is that is the cars are specifically made for the Japanese market and they have the default Japanese language.

maps only way out is just using a phone, or an android google alternative, for the language i have a mitsubishi system and I tried changing it but ukitoa battery for some time it either defaults back to jap, or keeps asking for the original cd its a cat and mouse game, so I just decided to stick with the jap one, hata expander sijawai weka, just listen to the fm station below the 90 frequency.

If it’s a Japanese car meant for the domestic market, unfortunately you cannot change. The audio system is only available in Japanese. I’m technical as well as spent many months looking for a solution – if you plan to keep the car for a long time, you’ll eventually understand what each button does. Alternatively, you can find a replacement.

If its a post 2012 model you can do it yourself using a small USB disk zile za camera. All you need to do is open the radio place, locate the disk. Remove and format, its easier if you get a new disk, Go to the manufactures website and download the program for you cars model English version. Save in the disk. Installed the disk in the car. Remove battery plugs to reset the car completely.start the car and the radio should work in English. Or you can get someone to do it for only 3k.

Just get a Japanese guy to read through the settings for you.

Contacts?

Or learn Japanese yourself. Save some cash

You can use google translate. Just take a photo with your phone and google translates image into english.
