Here me out guys, am doing a preliminary study for a somewhat crazy business idea. It selling bulk SMS for to politicians for political campaigns. It involves getting a whitelisted account ( in my own domain name) and getting reseller bulk SMS at 0.3 or 0.4 bob and selling at a profit plus also giving out unique sender ID to the buyers ( saf, Telkom and Airtel). I have also found a source of database of numbers too.
I usually do boring 8-5 county job at ICT dept, I am fairly technical guy but I can’t say to be a top delacream.
I find the campaign period to be the only time politicians are willing to spend their loot .

I did this in 2013 and I don’t see what your value proposition is . The idea is nothing new and when it comes to voter’s phone numbers and most aspirants have them courtesy of corrupt IEBC staff .
Sender ID costs less than 10K and the telcos will have it ready in less than 3 days .
Go back to the drawing board and also note that aspirants are some of the stingiest and worst people you can do business with .
It is good you did this. Tell me how did it go? Was it profitable? And how serious were Safaricom and CAK with the restrictions on sending political SMS?
