Bonobo ni Bonobo tu! The School reopening case.

I heard some bonobos in the news arguing that school reopening should be postponed to next years, in light of the coronavirus. Now you just ask them, what if, at that point (january 2021) the cases will still be going up? Will we postpone yet again? Does anyone imagine that there will ever come a day when there will be 0 coronavirus cases reported? Come on now.

It is time to get real! All must open up unless they mass dreaming.

New Zealand had zero cases for consecutive days and they reoppened

0 of the people who showed up for testing that day had corona. This doesn’t mean that there couldn’t be others out there who had the virus but undetected. once something is this widespread, getting to real 0 is almost impossible. Good for them though if they have reopened.

But their model had been a success so far. Why not follow them instead of trying to do it our own way which may backfire

Don’t you see that this thing is not as ‘bad’ here as it is over there. That it is not spreading as ferociously (remember, we got our first cases at almost the same time as countries like usa and italy. Then look at how their numbers in a short while). And that even when people here get it, the effects tend to be minimal? How do you expect a virus to have the same behavior worldwide? Do you know that if it wasn’t for the so-called mass testing – as in, if people were only presenting themselves for testing when ill – we would probably be having less than 100 cases here? Most of the people who have been ‘diagnosed’ with coronavirus here haven’t heard any issues. Sometimes we forget that it is the disease we are fighting! If the virus was to infect 10 million people here, and pretty much all of them turn out to be asymptomatic?

Dude, we have a working model elsewhere which we can try to follow but you don’t want us to do that. Why do you want us to risk the lives of our most vulnerable when we can cautiously following a working model. Even ten lives is one too many. And the assertion that Africa is somehow fairing better was still there at the start of the pandemic. We did exactly what you are advocating and it hit us. We won’t repeat the same mistake. You can opt to throw caution to the wind open your business and even have your elderly relative assist you run in. Nobody will stop you. But just don’t start blaming the government again when it ravages your own home. Heard immunity which you are trying to explain in many words is simply survival for the fittest. Most of you guys believe you are the fittest forgetting you have contact with elderly loved ones as well.

We should continue with our lives as usual save for the elderly people who should be as far away from the general population as possible. Sadly the guys/elite who het to make the rules in Kenya are mostly the elderly

Has the IQ of the human population dropped to zero? Covid-19 started from one person, so how will the whole world ensure there in never that “one” person left?

Stupid at its best never wriggles through crevices coz it expects notches and bumps in the crevices to shift! Read my posts, including the first I did on Covid-19. Nature does not shift its base to accommodate humans; it is the other way round! I insisted on masks when CDC/WHO thought otherwise. I(we) design best strategies (realistic) that prove best in the long run!

It’s only when and until safety measures are put in place should the schools be opened. As it is now nothing has been done towards that realisation. Simply nothing has changed so why take the risk? If I had a school going kid today I wont allow him/her anywhere near a school gate. That’s taking life too serious …

Dr who?Uncle Thio? The wave has not hit us yet! When you are starved at sea, learn not to take solace in the floating boat. Take the risk!
