Police in Nairobi are investigating a bizarre incident in which a teacher and her husband were brutally murdered in Kayole.
According to Nairobi Criminal Investigations boss Ireri Kamwende, unknown people chopped Ruth Mbuthia’s breasts and mutilated her husband Stanley Muiruri’s genitals.
In a report by the Star, neighbours raised alarm when they failed to see the couple on Sunday hence prompting police response.
Police found the bodies of the 55-year old primary school teacher and that of her 60-year old husband on Monday afternoon at their house in Matopeni, Kayole.
The motive behind the cold blood murder is yet to be established as police noted nothing was stolen from the couple.
Organised criminal gangs have been terrorising residents of Kayole, with one particular group known as Gaza being the most dreaded in the area owing to a series of killings linked to it.
The gang is also associated with several violent criminal incidents including robberies, abductions and extortions.
Over 100 members of Gaza surrendered themselves to the police last year, after they were assured of immunity. mbicha sina
