Accident Gulu, UG 1967

That’s only half the story, unfortunately. The photo was originally taken by my dad, he came across the scene on his way to Gulu in Uganda to sort out the airfield there. I included it for no reason other than that.
Along with all the others, it then remained unseen for over 40 years.
Then the image was chosen at random, amongst others, to help illustrate an exhibition at the Royal Geographic Society in August this year.
While on display the car in the pic was recognized by the sister-in-law of its owner: he unfortunately was then only 19 years old, was driving with his father, who was thrown out: he was killed in the crash. It happened in October 1967, just before Kafu Bridge on the way from Kampala to Gulu. The driver of the truck was drunk, and was weaving all over the road: the people in the car saw the accident coming, but could do nothing to avoid it.
So what to do? I’ve left it there at the moment, but it arouses very mixed emotions.
